Propelled by some outside force, they started moving faster than their regular pace, first a few, then more and more. After a short while the very stuff of their society, the atoms, can’t withstand the pressure of all this frantic activity and starts losing the grip on the invisible grid along which they’re aligned. The molecules can’t slow down, but just speeds up, and the grids of their reality starts stretching, first slowly, then faster and faster until gravity overpowers the weakened structure and pulls it down, sending the steel streaming. It was a good weld.  Streaming - Chapter 2

Exercise 1: Shrinking and Burning
The first and last step to accepting death is to die. This is how man is built. A man can lie down with smile on his face staring his child down with eyes of warmth and gratitude, to a life well lived, to God, to the afterlife, to his friends, to his city, to his work, to his art, to his girlfriends, his brothers, his sisters, his second cousins, his third cousins, to his money, to his house, to everything.
Of course, the man is lying to himself; his heart and his brain and his nerves are all in a passive-aggressive state

Dear Doris - Part 4Hey there Doris,Dear Doris - Part 4
How are things? Well, my chicks came in the other day, so had my hands full getting them all settled in. I have to say there are people set against it, too old they say. Well, I may be old, but I ain't dead. No disrespect to you Doris, I sure hope you got lots to do, and that they have gardens in heaven for you. Anyway, Betsy was the only standing up for her old man, says it's good for the heart. Everyone needs a hobby, ain't that right? It's hard, Doris, I ain't gonna lie to you. I'm not feeling sorry for myself or anything,
